The top athletes in Canadian track and field are coming to British Columbia in June and seeing them compete will be twice as nice with a combined discount ticket package for the Bell Canadian Championships in Langley and the Vancouver Sun Harry Jerome Classic in Burnaby.
Organizers are, for a limited time, offering a two-event bundle that will get you one ticket to the Jerome on June 14 at Swangard Stadium and a four-day pass to the Bell Canadian Championships June 23-26 at Langley’s McLeod Stadium.
Bundle buyers will also get a keepsake event pass and lanyard and in-and-out privileges in Langley.
Stars such as Olympic decathlon gold medalist Damian Warner and Andre De Grasse, gold medalist in the 200 metres, will be among the headliners. But Canada is building significant depth throughout the track and field program and is coming off an Olympic Games in which it came home with six medals.
“I think Canadian athletics fans, Canadian sports fans, should be excited going into this year,” David Moorcroft, a former British distance runner and CBC Sports analyst, recently told the network. “I think the Olympics in Tokyo were amazing for Canadian track and field.
“There’s a confidence in Canadian athletics at the moment. And that’s a great thing.”
The Jerome, in its 38th year, is Canada’s longest-running track and field meet, and has a great history of featuring Olympians, world record holders and Canadians looking to make international breakthroughs.
The Bell Canadian Track and Field Championships will include national championships for senior, U20 and para-athletics titles and serve as time trials for the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Ore., in July.
The ticket bundles covering both events can be purchased online until 11:59pm on June 11th at www.athletics.ca and www.harryjerome.com.
